About Heather

Heather painting at 5 years old.
Growing up amidst diverse landscapes, from the vibrant coast of Northern California to the vast expanses of Wyoming, I cultivated a deep appreciation for the natural world. As an intensely curious yet shy child, I found solace in observing the world around me: watching clouds drift, listening to the murmur of streams, tracing the intricate lines of tree branches, and marveling at the sparkling diamonds of snow.
A childhood gift of art supplies ignited a lifelong passion. I discovered the magic of translating these fleeting moments – the beauty, the wonder, the quiet awe – onto paper. This early fascination with capturing the essence of the world continues to fuel my artistic practice today.
My work explores the human condition through a blend of character-driven narratives, evocative imagery, and a touch of the fantastical. These introspective journeys allow me to connect with others on a deeper level, reinforcing my belief that we are all interconnected and part of a larger whole.
Although my art travels far and wide, my heart remains in my home studio, surrounded by loved ones – both human and furry. I am deeply grateful for the privilege of pursuing my passion as a full-time artist.
I trained as an illustrator and received my BFA at Otis-Parsons in Los Angeles, CA. Since then I have built a following via my online Etsy shop, gallery exhibits and summer art festivals.
